As we have seen in the news lately cases in corona virus have been skyrocketing with more cases in a day since the start of this pandemic. If cases are at an all time high then why are we going back into school? I am sure that as schools like ours that have made the decision to allow students to return to in school education this question has weighed heavy on the shoulders of the parents and guardians of these students. Should they let their kids go to school and chance them getting sick with this virus that they still don't know too much about? Or should they keep their kids home on virtual learning and deprive them of human interaction? This is why Parents and Guardians have such a hard time trying to figure out what's not only best for that one kid but what's best for the whole family.

This decision is a question you need to ask yourself and your family. If you or someone you live with has a health issue that could end up getting them severely sick it is most likely not worth it. The CDC has put out an article explaining that if you or a loved one has a greater chance of contracting Covid-19 then you should take the precautions in order to keep yourself and the people you know and love safe. "While there is no way to ensure zero risk of infection, it is important to understand potential risks and how to adopt different types of prevention measures when resuming activities, including returning to school. Parents and guardians should consider whether other household members are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 when making decisions about which activities to resume." The CDC is saying that the chances of someone getting Covid-19 are far less likely if kids just stay home for school.

So if you are a parent that has someone in the household that can't risk getting sick then the chances are that you will be keeping your child home. If you are a parent that sees their kids down in the dumps about not interacting then you will most likely be sending your kids back to school. It is all your choice, at the risk of you and your loved ones.

I agree that this is such a tough time for making decisions because these decisions affect the family and anyone else you come in contact with. Please correct these blocked out parts.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true because everyone has a different family situation and have to make different decisions on whats best.
ReplyDeleteYour argument is very true because it's a lose lose situation either way. However, since our country is doing much better I think we need to start going back to school. Everyone is afraid and worried about what will happen but we will never know what the outcome will be until we try.
ReplyDeleteI agree, with so much uncertainty in our country regarding COVID it is hard to say what is the right decision.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard for there to be a 'right" decision in these terrible times. This is not something people have experience with! Great writing
ReplyDeleteThis is very true since there is so much we are uncertain about and everyone's family situation is different so making certain decisions can affect more people than those we first think of.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this because it is really hard or there to be one right decision, as many people have different environments and preferences.
