I speak for the majority when I say everyone looks forward to the holidays. It is a time of year that brings together families and friends for celebrations. You drive down the streets and see colorful lights lining the way. No matter what you celebrate, the holiday season is cherished by both the old and young. They bring much needed relief in all of our lives, and with coronavirus numbers rising again we need the holidays more than ever!
Some of my most fond childhood memories are for celebrating the holidays with my family. It always feels like a disconnection from my regular life. During the break I transition into a different world filled with parties, candy, and joy. The holidays are perfect to end the year, I always thought of them as somewhat of a reset where you are able to push all the troubles you faced this year aside. With the roller coaster of a year 2020 has been I am relieved that I can still look forward to the holidays to raise my spirit.
With coronavirus essentially shutting down the world everyone is seeking comfort in routine. We have all been witness to normal tasks being stripped away, now it feels strange to look back and see mask-less pictures. Although the holidays this year are guaranteed to be very different as long as you hold onto a holiday mentality we will get through this. I hope the holiday season is still able to provide a sense of relief because we all desperately need it.
No matter what the holiday season brings this year I look forward to the departure from my normal life to the holiday joy. I look forward to holidays in the future when this year will become a funny story today at the dinner table. As we all cling onto normalcy the holiday season will hopefully provide a little relief for everyone.

I hope we can all have some normalcy this holiday season!
