The holidays have been scientifically proven to increase a person's happiness. Spending time with family, making new traditions, opening presents and so much more contribute to the spirit of the holidays. Christmas Day, although not celebrated by everyone is said to be the happiest day of the year. For Thanksgiving this year I was able to socially distance and see my relatives. I can say that from my point of view, it definitely made me happier to be around family and have good food. Although this year we may not be able to spend the holidays with the people we normally do, we can still find ways to have a happy season in the light of the corona virus.
I always find that the holidays are my favorite time of year. There are so many fun activities to take part in such as going to the city, making cookies, and seeing my relatives. It is definitely important this year that we find ways to make this holiday season a little more joyful. One of my favorite holiday activities that always make me happier is watching Christmas movies. Here's five of what I believe are some of the best Christmas movies ranked:
1. Elf- Most people probably have this on their favorites list because its so popular. This is definitely a movie to brighten someones mood during these times.
2. Home Alone- This movie definitely gets me in the holiday spirit and is a good laugh. Even though it definitely made me scared to stay home alone when I was younger.
3. Sleepless in Seattle- Even though this technically not centered around Christmas this is still one of my favorite movies to watch around the holidays.
4. Christmas Vacation- This is one of my favorites because of how funny it is even though it is a bit unrealistic. I always look forward to watching this with my family.
5. White Christmas- I love watching this movie every year with my family. Even though its a much older movie, I still enjoy watching the singing and dancing scenes.

I agree that the holidays do make us happier! We've already watched Home Alone and all three Santa Clause movies!
