Family is something tremendously important in everyone's lives, no matter it is related by blood or not. Although I wish I could write about every member of my family and how they have helped me grow as a person, I think the family aspects that have really made an impact on me are all of our family traditions. Although some are just like normal family traditions, going to New York around Christmas time and seeing Broadway shows. Some are more unique to my family specifically. One thing my overly competitive family will never change is our teams. It will always be my dad and me versus my brother and mom whether it be spike ball, volleyball, or board games on family game night. All of the games and traditions that were implemented in my life since a young age have really made me the person I have become today. My parents were never the kind to let my brother or I lose so when playing games since young ages we became just as competitive, and still are to this day.
These are pictures from the last three years tying the tree to the car.
In a family that is very obviously not god with change (most of that coming from my brother and I) Family trips down the shore have always been the same. Get there, set up, swim, play Uno, eat, leave and eat chicken legs on the peer and then go get ice cream. This routine has been the same for as long as I can remember and definitely something that I will keep going when I have kids. Similar to this before Christmas we always have to chop our tree down from the same place, and of course, Have me and my dad tie it to the car. When we get home and put it up my mom will always exclaim "Guys I think this is our best tree yet!"
Overall, although so much about my family and friends are important to me, nothing has really helped me grow and learn who I am to the extent that all of our games and traditions have. I am so thankful for my family and all they have done for me, especially my parents for creating these traditions and raising my brother and I to get along so well that we can go on these trips and play these games without getting upset with each other.

You're lucky to have a great family!
