What Youth Athletics has done for me By: Bradley Maines

Everyone has that one thing they just loved to do when they were younger that they did for fun whether it was watching TV or run around and play tag. My favorite thing was competing whether it was running around the track as a little kid and trying to beat my friends or whether if it was youth soccer I would always try to win. No matter what I was doing I would always make it a competition, youth sports helped me channel that competitiveness as I grew older. When I first started football when I was young it gave me so many things I could do in my spare time that could help me grow as a person like being a good sport or learning when to just relax. Youth sports helped me by getting myself out of my comfort zone, as I now watch my younger cousins play at the same age I started at it shows me how I became the way I am now, and hopefully, I can teach my cousins the same.

Now that I look back at all the great moments in my youth sports, and hope I can make some great memories in the next few years of my high school career, and hopefully I can continue my career in college. Thanks to Youth Athletics I have been able to play for many years competitively, and be able to just have fun while having that fun I was able to respect my coach's/peers, able to focus better, become mentally and physically stronger. I was able to do all of that while I was playing the sports I loved. Sports have taught me one more thing that is no matter what's going on or what you want to do you need to keep up academically as well as physically. Hopefully, I will be able to continue my athletic journey when I go to college. Hopefully continuing the sports that I love as an NCAA athlete.
