When I was younger I used to despise it when my mom would come into my room and tell me to make my bed. I thought it was completely useless because in a few hours it would just be messed up again. It was a waste of my time and I would always refuse to do it. But now as I've gotten older, I've come to realize that I actually like having a made bed. Scientists have even proven that having a made bed can improve a person's mental health.
First off, having a made bed makes me feel much more productive in the morning. I'm not saying that I wake up and immediately jump out of bed to make it, however, I like knowing that I actually completed something in the morning. It makes it that much easier to get up and start doing other things I need to do for the day.
Secondly, I hate walking into my room and seeing my room in disarray. I think it's useless for me to have a nice comforter and pillows and not display them on my bed. I wouldn't say that the rest of my room is always the cleanest, but having a made bed seems to improve it by a little.
Lastly, according to scientific studies, having a made bed and clean rooms is actually proven to help you sleep better. A poll showed that people who make their bed, are more likely to have a better sleep.

I love this post because I feel the same way! We make all of our beds each day and I do think I sleep better when I am getting into a bed that's been made!
ReplyDeleteI never really put much thought into this but I couldn't agree with you more.
