Long Beach Island, NJ may be one of my favorite places I have experienced traveling so far. I chose to write about LBI because it is a place that is very important to me, as I grew up going there, and I spend weeks there in the summer (and sometimes all throughout the year). Long Beach Island is a shore point along the coast of the Jersey Shore. The majority of people who love traveling to the shore have been to LBI before, as it is very popular. All throughout my life, my whole family (cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles) would all rent a house and stay together in LBI each summer. I fell in love with the beach, swimming in the ocean, eating fresh local food, and exploring different parts of the island. This island has a special place in my heart!
Last summer, something happened that definitely changed my life. My aunt and uncle(whom I am extremely close with) decided to buy a house on LBI. Ever since that point, I practically started living down the shore. The house is small and on the water, which is literally all that we need. When all the cousins are down there at once, we cram into the tiny bedrooms and honestly have so much fun together. Our favorite thing to do when we are bored is drive around the island and try new coffee at different shops!
I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to have so much fun down the shore with the people I love, and I really hope that everyone gets to experience those feelings of gratefulness at some point in their lives. As summer is quickly approaching, I am getting prepared to get right to the beach!
